Norwegian progressive house star Kygo will step in as resident for Ushuaia again this year, following up a wildly successful tenure in 2017 with 2018 sets at the Playa d'en Bossa dance spot every Sunday from the 15th July to the 2nd September. A leading player in the scene having been named at number 3 on Billboard’s Dance 100 back in March, Kygo is one of the most in demand musicians in electronic music, and will be well received upon his return to the Ibiza nightlife.
Ushuaia’s credentials as one of the White Isle’s best party spots have never been in question, with the recent announcement of Martin Garrix for their Thursday night parties demonstrating that they’ve got pulling power to match any other venue on the island. Bringing the creme de la creme to their poolside stage multiple times each week of summer, Ushuaia is a second home to EDM fans and a safe bet for anyone wanting to get down to high-octane, chart friendly dance music. Stacked with VIP spaces, gogo dancers, high end production across the venue and, let’s not forget, the classy adjoining hotel, Ushuaia is recognisable as one of the stars of the White Isle, and a more than worthy host for the Norwegian DJ and his fanatic group of followers.
Many artists might find themselves somewhat overawed by a stage as prestigious as Ushuaia, but having been the first house musician to perform at an Olympics closing ceremony when he played in Rio De Janeiro in 2016, Kygo is not easily phased. The producer has also seen his single “Firestone” hit 450 million views on YouTube and even more on Spotify, and wracked up a mind boggling 69 billion plays on Soundcloud and YouTube overall, so the Norwegian can be fairly sure that his tropical meets progressive house holds mass appeal. Certain to put this into action again at Ushuaia, he’ll be in his element when he touches down in Ibiza this July.
