La Discotheque will celebrate a full year in the business as Evelyne Champagne King, Joey Negro and DJ Spen lead a special lineup at Macnhester's Albert Hall. Taking place on Saturday 25th November and also showcasing a special secret guest as well as Roy Davis Jr and a Fleetwood Mac tribute, the 1st birthday party is shaping up to be a quality night of disco and house cuts.
American singer-songwriter Evelyne Champagne King doesn’t appear too often in the UK these days, so securing her services for the birthday bash will have delighted the crew at La Discotheque, with 80s hits including “I’m In Love” and “Love Comedown” sure to delight the Mancunion crowd. She’ll be joined on the bill by a disco connoisseur in Joey Negro, whose barrage of disco-house edits have been bringing tracks back from the dead to breathe life into dancefloors for decades now. Sure to be in his element as he lays down glistening disco edits one after another, he’ll provide a lighter side to the house selections of DJ Spen and Chicago legend Roy Davis Jr. Offering a novelty set focussed entirely on dance edits of Fleetwood Mac songs, Fleetmac Wood will add plenty of fun to the affair, with intrigue also brought to the table by an as of yet unannounced guest.
