The classy Leeds venue Duke Studios will welcome fan favourite Psychemagik back to the decks for a massive New Year’s Eve party this year, with Love Muscle’s Michael Upson taking pride of place at the top of the bill as two rooms of music are provided at Sheaf Street. Also showing off the talents of resident selectors James Bevan, Josh Crozier and more, the party will offer house, disco and party tunes as 2017 is pushed out and into the history books.
With spacy cuts and heavy bass lines adding extra oomph to classics repurposed for the dancefloor, Psychemagik have become one of nu-disco’s most enjoyed duos, building themselves a solid reputation for deploying addictive cosmic grooves. Having made a summer appearance at Sheaf Street back in August, they are no strangers to the Duke Studios crowd either, and will be licking their lips at the prospect of picking up exactly where they left off.
Specialising in disco in its more original form as well as deep, soulful house, bumping acid and pumping techno, Love Muscle founder Michael Upson has earned himself a cult hero status in Leeds and beyond thanks to the wild atmosphere that his sets create, connecting with his audience in a way that most superstar DJs can only dream of. Given the biggest night on the calendar to play with, he’ll be relishing the prospect of taking a friendly crowd into 2018 with his signature style, swagger and unmistakable madness, whilst those with tickets can look forward to an emotional night at the hands of a DJ born for the biggest of occasions.
Tickets are now on sale.
