Following the announcement that the former Oasis frontman will headline Parklife Festival in his home city of Manchester, Liam Gallagher’s very first solo LP has gone platinum. ‘As You Were’, aptly named after his associated and frequently used slogan, was released in October of last year, and now, the twelve track venture has hit the 300,000 sales mark. Featuring singles ‘Wall of Glass’, ‘For What It’s Worth’ and ‘Chinatown’, Liam’s solo project is less of an Oasis-style britpop sound and explores more psychedelic tinted elements with his staple arrogant vocals keeping it true to his own signature style. Also in LG news, the Gallagher brother has banned the use of potato peelers at Parklife Festival - following an ongoing running joke regarding his estranged brother Noel using scissors as an instrument, Liam took to Twitter asking somebody to come and peel potatoes at his gig - which, to his surprise, was followed through by a fan. Now, as the joke has gotten a little out of hand, the kitchen utensil has had to be marked as a forbidden item for the upcoming June Festival.
Liam Gallagher headlines this year’s Parklife Festival which takes place in Manchester’s Heaton Park between Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th June.
