Manchester has always been a city rich with culture and it’s music history is one of the defining factors of that. Continuing to host a versatile collection of acts, the O2 Ritz venue resides its reputation as one of the most iconic, with their upcoming listing on securing that further. Whether you celebrate the most romantic holiday of the year or not, Valentines Day this year invites Minnesota indie rock quartet Hippo Campus to Manchester, and you’re guaranteed to fall head over heels in love with their unique alt-rock sound. Later in the month, Maggie Rogers is set to deliver her magnetic pop to an audience at the O2 Ritz, and Arctic Monkeys fans can celebrate their seminal album ‘Whatever People Say I Am that’s What i’m Not’ on Wednesday 27th February as a ten piece brass band will be performing the record in full. Another tribute performance will be taking over the venue on Tuesday 16th April as Yasiin Bey will be delivering a live rendition of Mos Def’s ‘The Ecstatic’ almost two decades since it’s release. With other acts headed to Manchester’s O2 Ritz including afrobeat legend Mr Eazi, 70s neo-soul songstress Angie Stone, and 2 tone ska revival band The Selector.
