Seminal 2 tone ska band Madness will descend on the capital once again this coming August to take centre stage at House Of Common. Returning to Clapham Common to close out the bank holiday weekend on Monday 28th August, the day festival will see Madness feature alongside a series of acts and special guests throughout the course of the day.
House Of Common 2016 saw guest appearances from the likes of Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, David Rodigan, Norman Jay, Craig Charles and Hoy 8 Brass Band. The full lineup for House Of Common 2017 is set to be announced in the coming months.
Unequivocal national treasures, Madness have endeared themselves to every and every generation of music lovers since their emergence in the 1970s. Fusing the sounds of the west indies with the hardened streets of Camden Town, the 2 tone band’s jovial personality and socially enlightening lyrics paved the way to commercial success and legendary stature – a status confirmed when inducted into the Q Magazine Hall Of Fame last year. Armed with a plethora of anthems and crowd pleasers, there will be few better audiences to be a part of as the curtain comes down on House Of Common this August Bank Holiday.
