Marshall Jefferson heading to Stoke

Marshall Jefferson heading to Stoke

Andrew Kemp | Latest News

Stoke’s getting lucky again, and as usual it’s The Move that they have to thank, with the party starters this time bringing Chicago icon Marshall Jefferson to town. Taking to The Exchange on Trinity St for a disco set on Saturday 14th April, Jefferson will treat Stoke dancers to musical selections drawn from one of the most influential minds in dance music history.

The word ‘legend’ is banded around like nobody’s business these days, but Marshall Jefferson is one producer deserving of such a title. Referred to in no casual terms as a ‘father of house music’, the Chicago native became involved with Trax Records and released “Move Your Body (The House-Music Anthem)” in 1986, setting the terms for a piano-house dawn. A producer for the likes of CeCe Rogers and Ten City, Jefferson knows deep house like the back of his hand, and few names in music could more reliably be trusted to provide a magnificent night on the dancefloor.
