Germany’s most loveable DJ stops off in Leeds again on Saturday 24th February, with Move D playing all night long at Wire. Free to skip through the depths of his record bag, with house, techno, garage, disco and more likely to feature, the Heidelberg legend will show why he’s known as one of the best selectors around.
Having operated as a maker and curator of outstanding music since the 90s, David Moufang has become one of the most prestigious artists in house and techno, his releases showing quality across a variety of styles. Records produced as both Move D and collaboratively as Deep Space Network and Reagenz still hold cult classic status, the Source Records label that he ran with Jonas Grossmann holding an esteemed legacy over a decade after its final release.
Hailed by all who see him not just for his expert selections and instinctive sense of what’s needed at a party, but also for his personable and charming demeanour behind the decks, Moufang is a joy to behold, sipping on red wine and dancing away merrily as he plays music straight from the heart. In a scene often dominated by uber-cool, indifferent DJs, his visible passion for the art means he is a still a breath of fresh air even decades into his musical career.
