Few names in house music provoke more glowing reviews than that of Move D, so Nottingham residents will be over the moon to hear news of his return to the city in the new year. Heading to The Brickworks on Friday 2nd February, the Heidelberg resident will delve deep into his expansive record collection to reassert the talents that make him one of the most prized artists that the underground can conjure up.
Over two decades of devotion to electronic music has seen David Moufang become the friendly face of German techno and house, writing deep, intricate and mesmerising music but never falling into the overblown severity that many in the techno scene seem consumed by. Proving that you can make mind-expanding, cerebral dance music and maintain a sense of fun, the charismatic producer has churned out immaculate productions under many guises, most significantly as collaborations like Magic Mountain High, Deep Space Network and Reagenz as well as his solo Move D work. Exceptionally knowledgeable across various genres, his occasional disco sets have become legendary but his usual explorations draw in elements of deep house, acid, techno, garage and more. Known for his love of fine wine and interminable smile, he’s an effervescent presence behind the decks, an expert selector and a DJ who seemingly can’t fail to charm a crowd.
