With the amount of top-quality partying under their belt, it’s hard to believe Sheffield promoters Muzik have only been around for two years, but that they have, with celebrations for their second birthday booked in for Friday 6th October. Serving up a typically weighty lineup including Waze & Odyssey, Huxley, Pawsa and more, news of the special bash at Code will be Muzik to the ears of Sheffield’s house music contingent.
Having first started up in 2011, Waze & Odyssey have forged themselves a reputation as big tastemakers, earning worldwide attention thanks to their disco infused house and techno. Also drawing heavily on sounds from the UK bass scene, the pair have seen their productions and DJ sets draw audiences from Europe, America and Asia, earning them sets at the world’s best dance clubs including Panorama Bar, Fabric, The Warehouse Project and more. Festival mainstays and Rinse FM residents, the pair have used their status to build a successful label in W&O Street Tracks, with music from Sage Caswell, Ejeca and Kill Frenzy among the highlights. Joined in Sheffield by Huxley, a DJ and producer who has often supported their work, Waze & Odyssey will hope to stir things up again when they arrive at Code.
The tech house offerings don’t stop at Huxley either, with Leftwing & Kody, Pawsa and Jacky also providing the goods. Also making room for one of their regular performers, L&F Projekt, Muzik have thrown themselves their perfect birthday session.
