Taking place alongside the historical and world famous Bavarian celebrations in Germany, Manchester’s Albert Hall are to host Oktoberfestival. The September weekend will bring a list of German biers to the transformed venue, including Paulaner, Hofbrau and Hacker Pschorr, as well as traditional native foods of the European beer capital, with bratwursts and pretzels available throughout and a versatile and diverse offering of live music.
While Friday night sees Norman Jay MBE spinning some soul grooves in the company of brass band Twisted Tubes, Ghetto Child and You Dig?, Saturday offers Manchester’s own indie don Tim Burgess of the Charlatans taking to the wax with Jonny Walsh of GOO as well as Remake Remodel for an Indie Disko. Manchester ‘Haus’ dominates the final day of the festival, with Marshall Jefferson taking on the evening slot, and the day leading up to it bringing Riot Jazz, Yadava & Bolts (So Flute) and Me Gusta DJs to the themed Albert Hall.
