Leeds venue The Old Red Bus Station will celebrate a second birthday on Saturday 24th February, with Om Unit, Ruf Dug, Otik and more providing the tunes. Presenting everything from jungle to house and across to electronica, the diverse array of sounds will be an excellent representation of the venue’s wide sonic palette.
Though Jim Coles has been making music for over two decades, his Om Unit alias was born in 2009, rapidly rising through releases on Metalheadz, Ninja Tune and Civil Music to assert himself as a uniquely creative turntablist and producer. He is accompanied at the top of the lineup by the eclectic selections of revered collector Ruf Dug, who is known for playing Balearic into disco inso acid into jungle during his transformative sets. Offering a more defined style with his broken up, dubstep-influenced brand of techno, Otik should be well known to Leeds heads after releasing on Brotherhood Soundsystem’s label, and will add an extra level of intrigue to the night with his low-ended growlers.
