Roy Ayers and 808 State among top names at Moovin' Festival

Roy Ayers and 808 State among top names at Moovin' Festival

Andrew Kemp | Latest News

Perched under the stars that liven up the dark sky above Etherow Country Park in South Manchester, the majestic Whitebottom Farm is the home of Moovin Festival. Offering an impressive list of acts ranging from Roy Ayers to 808 State by way of Gentleman’s Dub Club, Mr Scruff, Roni Size and countless more, Moovin Festival will take place at the country park between Friday 25th and Sunday 27th August.

Offering a meeting point for like minded people, Moovin is a perfect midpoint between large and small festivals, able to offer phenomenal acts in large numbers whilst also remaining intimate and welcoming to the appreciated guests. Seeking to leave all attendees with a wide smile on their face when they eventually depart, Moovin enjoys an atmosphere as warm as you can get in South Manchester, and this year has plenty of musical talent to look forward to thanks to Roy Ayers, Roni Size and Gilles Peterson, to name but a few.

Sonar Kollektiv bosses Jazzanova, rock group Black Grape and Guyanese dub specialist Mad Professor are other names to stand out from a unique lineup, and Moovin’s organisers have also kept their hometown in mind, inviting some of the defining selectors of the Madchester days in Mike Pickering, Graeme Park and Greg Wilson. With such a well-rounded and exciting set of acts, you can expect Moovin to be a real vibe when it kicks off in a few months’ time.
