Groove2 and We are Events will return with a real firecracker of a booking as they head to Leeds’ Chapel on Saturday 15th April, with Chicago golden boy Roy Davis Jr. heading up the party. Also featuring JJ Mowbray and a wealth of other talent, the night will donate 10% of profits to the exceptional charity Love Support Unite, which provides healthcare, education and skills workshops to local communities in Malawi.
A student of the Chicago greats, Roy Davis Jr. got his dance music education by listening to Lil’ Louis, DJ Pierre, Farley Jackmaster Funk and Marshall Jefferson, so it’s no wonder that he likes his music to pack plenty of power. Producer of the garage anthem “Gabriel” as voiced by Peven Everett, Davis has had a string of successes with his releases on seminal labels like Strictly Rhythm, Peacefrog and Underground Trax. Also a member of production team Phuture, Davis is one of the most prestigious house artists in the city that birthed house music, so how fitting that he’ll be arriving at Chapel to the adulation of Leeds’ house crowd.
Groove2 resident JJ Mowbray, Woos b2b Maximilian FD, Jandu, Andy Pickard and Aka US complete the lineup, warming things up from 9.
