The marvellous Sadar Bahar will once again make the trip from Chicago for a night in Leeds, where he’ll be sharing his treasures with the Wire faithful on Saturday 9th December. Revered for his immense knowledge of all things disco accumulated over four decades of digging, Bahar provides a musical experience that few people in the world can contend with.
Years of graft have made Sadar Bahar one of dance music’s most richly endowed collectors, with a 14,000 strong selection of disco, funk, soul, rare groove and jazz that is up there with the very finest collections around. Having been obsessively collecting for decades, it’s only in recent years that his reputation has grown beyond his hometown, the brilliance of his music quickly earning him international fans and appearances at the best dance spots around the world. Previously appearing at Wire’s sister club HiFi, Bahar will this time set his weighty record bag down in the booth at the Call Lane basement, playing until deep in the morning as he offers a truly spectacular adventure into the roots of dance music.
Tickets are on sale at 6pm on Monday 23rd October
