It wouldn’t be summer in Bristol with a big outdoors party at Motion, and local favourites Just Jack have stepped up to deliver again this year by bringing Shanti Celeste, Objekt, Motor City Drum Ensemble, DJ Stingray and DJ Nobu over on Saturday 3rd June.
A weighty lineup in keeping with the phenomenal bookings that Just Jack have been making over the last eleven years, the 'All Day Partaaay' is one of few single-day parties in the UK this year that will be able to boast such an array of talent, with Beautiful Swimmers, Tom Rio and Dan Wild also in attendance. Featuring former Bristolian turned Berliner Shanti Celeste alongside disco master Motor City Drum Ensemble in The Carpark, the party will also have DJs Stingray and Nobu in The Craneyard, representing the thriving dance scenes of Detroit and Japan respectively. Both seasoned selectors with some of the strongest collections of techno, breaks and electro going, Stingray and Nobu are rare bookings in the UK and rarely fail to offer something unique from their peers on the circuit. Cutting their way through thunderous analogue jams and plenty of twisted obscurities, both are known for digging deep, and command a huge amount of respect for their years of devotion to dance music excavation.
Shanti Celeste’s mix of atmospheric techno and rave-influenced house is always well-received at her former stomping ground, and the volcanic, broken techno of UK bass genius Objekt will mean that both spaces are likely to serve up sweltering atmospheres in the warm Bristolian summer sun.
