The platform is now set for an incredible one-day festival at Birmingham’s Genting Arena this September, as Shiiine On is hyping up to be an event not to be missed. With the aim of showcasing “the artists that sound tracked a golden era of music”, the organisers have called upon the talents of over 20 iconic bands and DJs from across the nation to launch the debut of their new annual festival in style.
Orbital - made up of brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll - have been confirmed as the main headline act of the evening, celebrating their 30th year as pioneers at the forefront of dance music. The electronica duo from Kent - who reunited in early 2017 for the first time in five years following the end of their ‘Wonky’ tour - originally brought the underground sound of dance music to the mainstream UK music market back in 1994 when they performed their unique live show for the festival-goers at Glastonbury, which helped them establish commercial success and secure their place in music history as giants of the electronic music scene, alongside winning an NME award for Vibes Best Dance Act, and Q Magazine including the group as part of their 2002 list for “50 Bands to See Before You Die”.
This event will also feature the likes of Shed Seven, Madchester band Happy Mondays, Embrace, Cast and so many more brilliant acts across four stages as part of the day’s planned programme; in addition, Haçienda will be curating the after show parties in the late evening, with DJ sets from Brooklyn house hero Todd Terry, Marshall Jefferson and Jon Dasilva.
Shiiine On festival is coming to Genting Arena in Birmingham on Saturday 8th September.
