Later… With Jools Holland will enjoy its very first all female lineup on Tuesday 23rd May, with Stefflon Don, Lorde, Sheryl Crow and more lined up for the BBC2 party at The Maidstone Studios. Having been running in short series since 1992, the popular series has seen many of music’s brightest stars performing to a live audience, with the likes of Paul Weller, Ibibio Sound Machine, Ed Sheeran, Kasabian, Blondie and more having joined the former Squeeze keyboardist this year.
On this week’s lineup, the all female cast will be headed up by 9 times Grammy Award winner Sheryl Crow, with Kiwi dream pop singer Lorde and Grime MC Stefflon Don also standing out after plenty of recent buzz from people in the know. Malian folk singer Oumou Sangaré, another Grammy winner whose beautiful voice has seen her often referred to as the “songbird of Wassoulou”, is also set to play, along with gothic folk from Aldous Harding and East London’s Pumarosa.
For those who enjoy her part in the show, Stefflon Don is playing all over the place this summer, with Common People at Southampton the first of the bunch to host her on Saturday 27th May, before a trip to the White Isle sees her at Ibiza Rocks Hotel on Thursday 1st June to kick off a month that also includes performances at Wild Life and Parklife before visiting Wireless and MADE Festival in July.
