The 30th April will be a special date for Blackpool’s dance music fanatics, as the Bank Holiday Sunday will see North Pier host a brilliant array of acts for Pier Jam Part One. Headlined by Tchami and with Armine Edge & Dance, Sam Divine, Tough Love and more not far behind, Pier Jam will be one of the most exciting events of the year for Blackpool residents, with hundreds gathered at the distinctive seaside location to tune into a broad range of popular dance music.
Parisian headliner Tchami has got to where he is now through a combination of hard work and creative talent, and is considered a pioneer in the ever more popular future garage genre. A supporting DJ on international tours for the likes of Diplo, Skrillex and other world-famous producers, Tchami has risen to star status despite only releasing a handful of original tracks, with his recognition coming off the back of his memorable remixes for the likes of Janet Jackson, A Tribe Called Quest and Jack Ü.
Operating in a similar context, French duo Amine Edge & Dance have made similar inroads into mainstream consciousness, with appearances in the charts coming thanks to their talent for writing catchy hooks. Defected Records’ Sam Divine is another whose reputation will fill floors, whilst Tough Love are residents on Kiss FM and have received the support of Annie Mac, Pete Tong, B Traits and more on their way to chart success. With more big names to draw a crowd including grime kid Preditah, garage legend MJ Cole and plenty more, Blackpool’s pier will be a lively setting as Pier Jam excites a Sunday afternoon.
