EXIT Festival are a festival well renowned for their eclectic and versatile lineups, hitting all genres and styles from alt rock and indie, to the depths of techno and house, all the way to hip hop, rap and pop. Following a hugely successful 2018 edition of EXIT, which saw mighty acts David Guetta, Grace Jones, Martin Garrix, French Montana, Migos, Ziggy Marley, Jax Jones, Amelie Lens, Carl Craig and so much more take to Serbia’s stunning eighteenth century Petrovaradin Fortress location in Novi Sad, the unbeatable festival gears up for it’s next year, as they reveal the first headline act for 2019.
Known for being pioneers of the 80s new wave and gothic movements, The Cure have been confirmed as the first act to take over the Novi Sad venue next year, bringing a back catalogue of their famed sounds to Serbia. After a 2018 which saw the band sell out London’s huge Hyde Park as they played for 65,000 music fans, frontman and icon Robert Smith has personally selected EXIT as a stop off during the summer - and who can blame him as the festival has been voted as the Best Major European Festival twice in the last five years. Opening the festival on Thursday 4th July, this seminal set will be The Cure’s first ever time performing in Serbia and so it’s really not to be missed!
