Christmas carols will be replaced by disco delights in Stoke this year, with The Move bringing in Joey Negro for a “Blue Collar Disco Xmas Party” on Saturday 16th December. Held at The Exchange bar and kitchen, a classy cocktail bar, restaurant and events space on Trinity Street, the party will be a memorable addition to Stoke’s winter schedule.
Long-revered as an aficionado of all things disco, Dave Lee aka Joey Negro has for decades been taking the funk, soul and disco gems that the world had forgotten and turning them into modern day dancefloor hits. A curator of music as respected for his work on compilations like Disco Spectrum and The Garage Sound of Deepest New York as he is for years spent DJing all over the world, Joey Negro has managed mainstream appeal with his productions, working under various aliases including the commercially successful Jakatta. Sure to reach into his Santa sack of rare groove, house and everything in between, it’s all fire and no coal for the good folk of Stoke this Christmas.
