Following on from their sold out Night + Day residency at London’s O2 Academy Brixton back in March, The XX have announced plans to take the newest incarnation of the event to Iceland.
Running from the 14th-16th July, Night + Day Festival will see The XX head to the stunning landscape of Skogafoss waterfall – a setting the trio are already well acquainted with having recorded much of their latest album I See You in the Nordic country.
The lineup for Night + Day boasts a diverse mix of live music, DJs, Icelandic and internationally established artists, with The XX confirmed to perform live at the festival while band member Jamie XX will also offer up a DJ set. Over the course of the weekend The XX will be joined by the likes of fellow live performers Kamasi Washington, Warpaint, Odd Future affiliate Earl Sweatshirt and Jagwar Ma. An encyclopaedic knowledge of everything from house and techno, right through to disco and soul will also be present with Floating Points, Hunee, Robag Rhume, Giles Peterson, Avalon Emerson and Call Super amongst though playing DJ sets.
With the festival limited to 6,000 attendees, The XX’s Icelandic expedition should prove to be one of the most atmospheric events taking place this festival season.
