We know the feeling: you spend months waiting in leg-crossing excitement for Parklife to come, and then in one euphoria-filled flash it’s suddenly over. A weekend well spent, but what of the rest of the year? Putting such big questions aside for the moment, perhaps it’s time to look back over some of the sets that the Heaton Park festie served up, and Mixmag have again delivered the goods with a recording of the My Nu Leng set in full.
Driving through bass-heavy bumpers and manic DnB stormclouds with their usual gut-busting pace, the Bristol duo took no time at all in showing the Manchester crowd why they’re so revered in drum and bass circles. Weaving a quickfire set which is well-worth a listen if you’re into high octane beats, My Nu Leng placed their focus on DnB, but incorporated journeys into UK garage, dubstep and RnB as they delivered one of their best recorded sets to date.
My Nu Leng still have a lot on this summer, with a boat party at Hideout on Tuesday 27th June, El Dorado Festival at the very end of the month and MADE Festival in Birmingham on Thursday 29th July. Trips to Hospitality In The Park, SW4, Outlook, Lockdown and Beastwang’s Leicester warehouse rave all follow in August and September, making for a hectic summer of shows.
You can now also buy early bird tickets for Parklife 2018.
