Hinds is the four-piece indie rock band hailing from Madrid in Spain. Forming in 2011, the band initially begun as a two-piece between Carlotta Cosials and Ana García Perrotte called Deers, who recorded their first two singles Bamboo and Trippy Gum and released them on Bandcamp, to receive praise from the likes of Bobby Gillespie and Patrick Carney amongst many other established artists. The third and fourth members of the band, Ade Martin and Amber Grimbergen joined the band after the demos were released, shortly after which the band won the Make Noise Malasaña Award, which saw Hinds win the opportunity to record their next single Barns in Converse’s Rubber Tracks Studio in Berlin.
Throughout 2014, Hinds played gigs in various other countries and continued to release singles, with the Barn EP proving a hit with the press once again. A world tour in 2015 and performances a number of festivals cam with the news that Hinds would be releasing their debut album ‘Leave Me Alone’ in the New Year, with the date of release set to be 8th of January 2016. The album will be an amalgamation of all the bands’ singles and will also contain a brand new track Garden.
At the end of last month, Hinds were invited onto Lauren Laverne’s radio show on BBC 6Music to perform live in session. As well as talking all about the band, the new album and what is to come for the girls, you can hear Hinds perform their singles Bamboo and also San Diego live.
