Wire Leeds is fast approaching its 10th Birthday weekend that will be taking place on the 29th and 30th of January. After the first instalment that will be welcoming Pangaea, Pearson Sound and Midland for a mammoth b2b2b performance, the spotlight will be on Overflow and Central Beatz as they host the second part the following night.
A man synonymous with all things drum & bass and one of the monst revered names in the scene is LTJ Bukem, who will be appearing as the very special guest at this celebratory knees up. Classically trained on the piano and a fan of jazz-fusion during the 1980’s, LTJ Bukem is highly musical and takes this into his own production of drum & bass. Throughout the 1990’s he released a number of tracks including Logical Progression, Atlantis and Horizons, the latter of which is arguably his most notable.
It can’t be ignored that LTJ Bukem is perhaps one of the most important figures in the entrepreneurial music world, with one of his more recently discovered friendships being with Fabric in London. As well as mixing Fabriclive 46, which was released in 2009, Bukem has been a staple part of a number of the Friday night parties, all of which have sold out quickly once he has been announced to be at the controls.
This will no doubt be a special performance to help celebrate Wire’s tenth birthday, with Leeds’ own Loz Contreras and residents from both Overflow and Central Beatz also playing alongside this musical visionary.
