Made In Leeds Festival is just on the horizon, with all 6 arenas that will take over The Tetley in Leeds City Centre now announced. June 13th will see an array of Leeds grown institutions and club brands coming together for a day of music that first came to the city last year, as the biggest inner city music festival to have ever took place in Leeds.
Over the weekend it was announced that the Back To Basics stage would be headlined by the Dirtybird label spearhead Claude VonStroke, who last played for the legendary Leeds institution at The Warehouse 2 years ago. As the label head, Claude has released some of the most creative house music to be heard over recent years, donning a sound that fuses the 4x4 beat with hip-hop flavours and big bass riffs. Arena 5, which will welcome VonStroke and the cities most loyal clubbing crowd will also play host to the Cocoon young gun wAFF, who has made a big name for himself through his technically astute production skills that can be heard on his peak time house and techno records, with ‘Groover’ and ‘Jo Johnson’ being donned by a huge number of DJs worldwide.
Also appearing in the Basics tent will be a selection of their esteemed residents that include Denney, who is currently flying high on the back of his number 1 UK Dance record ‘Low Frequency’, Circo Loco regular Laura Jones as well as James Barnsley, James Holroyd, Frenchy and Josh Plews.
Where Back To Basics is the longest running club night in the city, The Warehouse follows suit as the oldest nightclub in Leeds, having set the stage for a huge number of acts both electronic and not, with the club being home to some great cub nights still today. Their stage will welcome VIVa Warriors head honcho Steve Lawler as well as local lad done good Miguel Campbell. They will be reinforced by performances from Justin Robertson and Manchester’s System2, as well as a number of the clubs residents including Paul Murray, Garry Dabill, Mark Holiday, Steve Luigi and Roy Archer. As a cherry on top of the cake there will also be a special LFO set from one half of the duo Gez Varley, the other half of which sadly passed away last year.
Another Back To Basics export is the revered DJ and label owner Ralph Lawson, who will be hosting his own 2020 Vision VIP arena. The line up here is yet to be announced.
Famed club brand Insomnia will be on a G-House thing as they invite Tough Love, Sirus Hood and Arun Verone to represent their name, with residents Tom Zanetti, Ko Kane, Tom Garnett, Ryan James, Danny Bond and Jamie Duggan also appearing. Just past the bottom of Briggate you will find Fibre, one of the cities most popular bars, which will also host their own stage inviting a number of their trusty residents, those of which are Dale Castell, Stuart Robinson, Luke Tibble, Habbo Fox, Ryan Yates and Tom Frost. The Federation Stage will be taken care of by Marc Leaf, Tony Walker, Stuart Robinson, Nik Denton, Greg Myers, Gavin Lampitt and Michael Park.
