Digital Mystikz’s Mala has been back in the studio - this time round channelling the sights and sounds of his recent experience of Peru into musical form topped off with his signature sub bass.
June 10th will see the release of Mala’s second studio album, Mirrors of which the lead track Kotos has been unveiled. The Peruvian influence on the record is evident from the start as the track is centred around a pan pipe riff which is eventually met pulsating bass and tribal drum patterns. Mirrors will not be the first record Mala has explored and studied culture for the means of creating a full length release. His first album, 2012’s In Cuba followed a similar pattern, sampling a taste of Latin America to feature within his signature dub infused production.
