The Rainbow Venues in Birmingham has had a strong year that has seen some great club nights, festivals and live events taking place at their many venues across Digbeth. Elrow, Fuse, Richie Hawtin, What Hannah Wants, RAM Records, Cream and David Rodigan’s Ram Jam are amongst the diverse selection of brands, DJs and party banners who have thrown their shindigs at the Rainbow Warehouse, Arena, Blackbox and other spaces.
On Saturday 4th June, The Rainbow Warehouse will close until winter, giving way to a season full of terrace parties and outdoor delights, which will be making the most of the summer sun. Before that though, this closing party will make itself heard with a great line up that sees Desolat co-founder Martin Buttrich headlining a quartet of great DJs, who will play in the main room from 10pm until 6am. Playing alongside him is the fabulous Nastia, the Ukrainian DJ, radio host and promoter who has recently developed her own banner, Propaganda.
Julia Govor will also be playing in the main room, the ex military band performer who put down the trumpet to take to the decks, having now played alongside Jeff Mills in New York and signed music to Visionquest and Get Physical. Finally we have Lewis Oxley, the local DJ and producer who has been playing all over Birmingham for a number of years. Room 2 at The Rainbow Warehouse summer closing party will welcome the monthly Saturday party Re:cord, who have invited to Santé to headline a bill of local talent.
