Mint Warehouse have finally announced the lineup for when doors open on August Bank Holiday Sunday for the Mint Festival warm up party, ahead of the festival taking place over the final weekend in September.
Longtime dance floor commander Carl Craig takes pride of place at the top of the tree, bringing the talents that have placed him at the pinnacle of Detroit’s second generation and made him one of the city’s most illustrious techno elders. An experimentalist known for pushing boundaries around house and techno and creating the space for dance music’s evolution into the plethora of sub-genres that we face today, Craig and his Planet E Communications label are as influential as any other combination to come from the Motor City.
Next on the lineup, the Mint crew have returned to Romania’s ripe microhouse scene to bring over Praslea, a champion of the distinctive [a:rpia:r] minimalism and one of Raresh’s most regular collaborators. Another specialist in streamlined tech house, Brouqade Records’ Dana Ruh brings a smoking arsenal to the table, whilst Julian Perez will support a sound leaning more towards the dub techno sphere. Support comes from some of Mint’s best local affiliates, including Bobby O’Donnell, Annie Errez and Finn & Farrow.
The terrace party will be held as a warm up to Mint Festival, which will be held at The Tetley in Leeds city centre for the first time this year. Amongst those on the line up are Joseph Capriati, Jamie Jones, tINI, Hot Since 82 and the very special guest, Craig David.
