The 7 DJ’s who have been chosen to spearhead proceedings all have headliner capability, with each being hugely respected individuals in the music world. The first of the 7 is the Grammy award winning SCI+TEC label boss, Dubfire. Known for dark, driving sets and for being one half of the genre-transcending duo Deep Dish, Dubfire is a master of digital DJing and has shown his apt for this through regular slots at Richie Hawtin’s Enter, Cocoon and festivals all over the globe. During his solo career he has produced a long line of releases, most of which have all been championed by the best. These include his classic remix of Radio Slave’s ‘Grindhouse’ as well as ‘Roadkill’ and ‘Rabid’ that were released on his own SCI+TEC imprint, a label that now hosts regular showcases worldwide.
Next on the line up is the French trio Apollonia. As residents at DC-10 Ibiza’s infamous underground gathering Circo Loco, Shonky, Dyed Soundorom and Dan Ghenacia have played both together and separately week in week out at this island landmark, which is hailed as the number one spot to hear the underground sound. As well as their DJ sets that are regularly all night long affairs, they have established a label that has released top quality tackle from the likes of Jovonn, David K and Point G. Check out the recent Apollonia Mixmag Mix CD below now.
Romanian wonder boy Rhadoo is the next to join Blackdot’s and once again the bill is someone who is admired for marathon performances that bleed sensational grooves and creative drum patters. Like the previously mentioned guests, Rhadoo is also part of a DJing imprint, [a:rpia:r]. This DJing trio and vinyl only label has fronted their countries sound, which is now storming clubs and festivals in all corners.
Enzo Siragusa joins as the fourth guest and as the head of music label and Sankeys Ibiza’s resident Fuse he can be hailed as the catalyst of the dub tech style that is now sweeping the white isle and many other parts of the world. Each week, the Basement at the relatively new establishment in Playa D’en Bossa oozes deep bass and bouncy drums that never fail to bring in the punters who are serious about their music. Last but most certainly not least is local hero Adam Shelton. Adam is no stranger to The Rainbow Venues as his bank holiday knees up Below is one of the most loved parties on Birmingham’s clubbing calendar. A who’s who of dance music have played at the affair that spans over several of the Rainbow’s areas, and Shelton never fails to succeed in bringing the noise as a resident of the esteemed occasion.
The main event will be taking over The Textile Factory from 2pm until 2:30am, only to be continuing on the proceedings at Blackdot’s home Nextdoor from 2:30am onwards. Get your tickets whilst they last.
