Leeds’ clubbing community might have thought they’d lost a favourite night for good when mono_cult announced their last dance party on NYD 2016, but it seems you just can’t keep a good party down, as they’ll be returning to the scene with a huge bang on Saturday 4th March. Set to take up their old spot at Canal Mills, the crew will return once again to mark 10 years since their very first event in 2007.
Tickets on sale 9am Wednesday 18th January.
Always respected for bringing a range of superb house and techno acts to town, mono_cult were instrumental in the Leeds scene for a good while, and became one of the city’s default New Year’s outings in their last few years. Seeking to pick up where they left off, they’ve booked in Tale of Us and Bicep as headliners, meaning Canal Mills is sure to be at capacity for this sweltering night of dance music.
One of the biggest DJ acts around at the moment, Tale of Us have been consistently wowing audiences with their melodic blend of traversing house and techno, with winding melodies and pumping kicks making them a big room hit all across Europe. Similarly cherished by Europe’s party people, Irish duo Bicep have used thumping techno and disco-infused house to perfection over the last few years, earning a huge fanbase that sets them out as one of the lowest risk bookings in the game. Few artists have provided sets more packed with stompers, and Bicep have also been responsible for years of fantastic musical output as both producers and label heads. Always entering a club with full commitment to the party, they’re a good choice for mono_cult’s big reunion.
mono_cult won’t be the only thing making an overdue return to Leeds, with third act Mood II Swing playing out in the city for the first time in half a decade. The legendary house act were responsible for some absolutely timeless dancefloor destroyers, not least “CaLL mE” and “Move Me”, and they’ll be sure to unload plenty of the classics as they put needle to wax for mono_cult for the first time. German house producer Sound Stream will also be in attendance, with the resident DJs of old completing a very impressive package indeed.
