Moovin returns to Stockport for the third instalment of Moovin’ Festival from 26th-29th August, with an impressive first phase lineup, things are shaping up nicely.
Last year saw the first Moovin Festival staged at Etherow Country Park in Stockport on August Bank Holiday Weekend last, with the line up bringing together all time classic DJs and fresh, cutting edge artists from the worlds of house music and break beat. The likes of Marshall Jefferson, The Plump DJs, Crazy P, Luke Unabomber, DiY, James Holroyd, Rennie Pilgrim, Jon Dasilva, Moonboots and Soul Of Man played across the weekend on stages hosted by Bugged Out and The Eighty Six DJs, so this year they had to step up, which is exactly what they have done.
This year, Moovin Festival will be returning to Whitebottom Farm on Etherow Country Park with a once again super strong line up, inviting legends in the world of sound systems and some of Britain’s most prominent house music figures to play together. Headlining the weekend will be the one and only Lee Scratch Perry as well as drum and bass pioneer Goldie. Another reference point junglist in Congo Natty will also be appearing as well as Beardyman, the one-man musician who has perfected the art of building his own tracks with loop pedals, microphones and his instruments.
The Channel One Sound System will be bringing some serious noise to the farm with some of the most fearsome dubplates to hand. not to mention. Also appearing will be A Certain Ratio, Finley Quaye, Dust Junkies, Extra Love, DJ Woody, Stanton Warriors, The Mouse Outfit and Riot Jazz. Justin Robertson will be representing house royalty with Jon Dasilva and 808 State also turning out to play. Bez from The Happy Mondays will on hand to keep the party following while further performances will come from Honey Feet and the very talented Blind Arcade.
There are plenty more artists to be announced, so keep your eyes peeled. Tickets start at £45 for the whole weekend.
