This week has sent forward its second SW4 lineup announcement, and this time it’s the addition of progressive house goliath Eric Prydz. Joining a lineup that already boasts returning Australian DnB stars Pendulum as headline act, Prydz will inject an extra shot of star quality into the weekend festival.
Further new additions to the SW4 2017 lineup include Mk, Maya Jane Coles, Heidi, Patrick Topping and Sam Feldt (live).
Best known for smash hit “Call On Me”, which was top of the UK singles charts for five weeks in 2004, the Swedish producer has been immortalised in EDM and big room history thanks to his iconic “Pryda snare”, which has become a common trope in the genre. Taken from his 2009 release “Miami to Atlanta”, the heavily compressed and sustained drum hit has been replicated over and over again, earning Prydz the bragging rights for having created one of the most distinctive sounds in dance music.
A skilled DJ as well as producer, Prydz was named best Essential Mix of the Year by Pete Tong in 2013, and has plenty of experience overseeing parties. Backed by two UK top 40 albums, he’s got plenty of tracks made by his own hand, and given his strong sense of what makes a mainstream hit you can expect to hear plenty of familiar tracks as he takes to SW4 this August.
SW4 runs on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August, and also features Sigma, Duke Dumont, Hannah Wants, Mistajam and Sonny Fodera vs Low Steppa. Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday.
