Nina Kraviz has always been something of a hot topic amongst dance music bloggers, especially since the infamous release of THAT interview video earlier this year. The Russian DJ has been making a name for herself – for different reasons – for years and is often the centre of controversy, whether it be with fans of the underground or even her fellow DJs at times... If you managed to miss it the first time round be sure to check out the first edition of Resident Advisor's Between The beats interview series with the lady herself below.
Putting the haters aside, Nina Kraviz has risen to the top of her field on merit, with a stunning back catalogue of releases on the likes of Rekids, Curle Recordings, Deep Moves and Naif. Couple this with a DJ calendar as busy as any, with gigs in Ibiza, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Holland, USA, Germany, Belgium and the UK all scheduled over the next 2 months and it's obvious to see Nina is one of the most in demand artists (male or female) in her respected scene.
Saturday 29th May sees Nina Kraviz headline Liverpool's flagship House and Techno night, Circus – at the newly renovated East Village Arts Club (formerly The Masque). Joining Nina on the bill are Nicole Moudaber, Noir (both making their Circus debuts), Hot Since 82 and residents; Yousef, Lewis Boardman and Scott Lewis. Circus is a regular sell out and dvance tickets are strongly advised to guarantee entry.
