On the 4th of July Calling Festival will return to Clapham Common in London for a full day of classic rock, brought from bands and solo artists who are revered the world over. The likes of Aerosmith, Stevie Wonder, Kasabian and Paul Weller have all played on Calling’s stage to the thousands of music lovers who come to the festival every year and this year there will be further collection of world class musicians for your listening and viewing pleasure.
Headlining proceedings this year will be Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, whose new album ‘Chasing Yesterday’ is due to be released early March. The lead single from the album titled ‘In The Heat Of The Moment’ was released early this year as crept up the charts to number 26. His anthemic style and clever lyrics will make for a great headline performance at Calling Festival. Noel and his birds will be joined by Ryan Adams and The Shining, an American singer and songwriter whose band have joined him touring the world after the release of his recent self titles album, which pipped the number 6 spot in the UK Charts.
The Swedish rockers The Hives will also be making an appearance, no doubt in one of their swank clad suits that have made their stage performances internationally recognisable. The band’s most well known single ‘Hate To Say I Told You So’ spearheaded the bands debut album ‘Veni Vidi Vicious’. The final band announced at (so far) is Echo & The Bunnymen.
