Northern Lights bring a bank holiday spectacular to Newcastle

Northern Lights bring a bank holiday spectacular to Newcastle

Northern Lights Festival is returning to Newcastle's Exhibition Park on Sunday the 30th of May for 2 days of underground electronic sounds that will see 3 stages being hosted by a selection of local and international club brands, who have invited some of the most prolific DJs on the planet to provide their soundtrack.

On the Saturday, the main stage will be hosted by Elektriqa and will see international superstar Steve Angello headlining the affair. Known for being one third of the supergroup Swedish House Mafia, but also for his efforts as a solo artist, Angello has become one of the most popular names on the planet through his chart topping tracks and some lesser known singles on his own label Size Records. Steve will be joined by the G-house pioneers Amine Edge and DANCE, who last year made their debut on the white isle as they completed a residency at Sankeys Ibiza. Also joining the main stage is Tom Star, Felix Leiter, and a selection of local residents.

Saturday will also see house and techno heads Motion hosting the second stage where they will welcome Ben Klock, one of the most prominent names in the world of techno who regularly plays all over the world, with a regular slot at Berghain/Panorama Bar. Hot Creations mainstays Richy Ahmed and Patrick Topping will also be playing here with Dungeon Meat finishing the line up off in true style. The duo made up of Back To Basics resident Tristan Da Cunha and Brawther hit it hard and strong with their chunky house that can be heard on their own eponymous label. Finally, Arena 3 will welcome Chris Lorenzo, Cedric Maison and the Octave DJs courtesy of local brand Behaviour.

Sunday will be another whirlwind of world famous names and cutting edge music as Steve Aoki headlines the main stage with Dyro Will Sparks and Tony Junior also appearing alongside another selection of local delicacies. The second stage will be hosted by Goodgreef on the Sunday, meaning pulsating, euphoric beats brought by the likes of Cosmic Gate, Orjan Nilsen, Ilan Bluestone, Will Atkinson, Standerwick, Solis and Sean Truby. Finally, Module will be hosting arena 3, with Redlight headlining and supporting performances from Marc Roberts and more.
