Bestival continues to grow into one of the most loved festival's in the UK, with booking power to match that of any festival across the globe. 2013 saw the likes of Elton John, Snoop Dogg, Fatboy Slim, M.I.A., Franz Ferdinand, The Knife, Flaming Lips, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Annie Mac, Seth Troxler and a whole load more, make the ferry trip to the Isle Of Man for Joise and Rob Da Bank's 10th Birthday Spectacular.
Off the back of easily their best year yet, 2014 sees Bestival take the festival up another few notches with this year's lineup already boasting an incredibly hard hitting and diverse selection of music's finest including Outkast, Foals, Beck, Busta Rhymes, Disclosure, Major Lazer, London Grammar, Sam Smith, Wild Beasts, Clean Bandit, Caribou, CHVRCHES and Laura Mvula (with the next wave of live artists and the DJ lineup still to be announced).
With his brand new album, Morning Phase, just about to be released (and some strong rumours of another album already boxed off in the studio waiting to be released next year) Beck is an artist who's sounds span everything from rock and folk to hip-hop and R&B and has got all the attributes of a big estival headliner and will be the perfect name to bring in the first night of the festival, taking over the main stage on the Thursday evening.
Filling the main slot on Friday will be none other than Outkast, with Foals heading up the lineup for the first day of the weekend. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled, as Sunday's headliner is yet to be announced... Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest updates.
Here's what festival boss and captain of the Bestival ship, Rob Da Bank had to say about this year's festival...
“Ahoy there shipmates and welcome to my desert island! Yes folks, HMS Bestival has set sail once more and we have finally landed back on the Isle of Wight for our 11th instalment - a Desert Island Disco. Foals were voted best live act of last year and I'm delighted they'll be headlining the Saturday night – there’s no better indie guitar band in the UK right now. Also donning a grass skirt and mirrorball is a total icon of popular music and one of my favourite songwriters, Beck, plus disco darlings Disclosure, Diplo and his Major Lazer crew and all the hottest new bands from London Grammar to Clean Bandit. So get out of your deckchair and get ready to disco, my friends!”
