Hessle Audio co-founder David Kennedy aka Pearson Sound has unveiled a new track, a remix of Francois K’s mix of Kim English’s “Learn 2 Luv”. The first remix of a remix that Kennedy has undertaken, it pairs the swooping ambient chords of the closing stages of the Francois K edit with Kennedy’s distinctively clean and powerful percussion work, creating a track that has plenty of dancefloor force as well as the euphoric wash of synths that made the source material so exciting.
Pearson Sound was asked to pick a track from the Nervous Records back catalogue to remix as part of their 25 year anniversary celebrations, and digging out this mix from 1997, the Hessle boss has come out trumps. Another strong bit of evidence in the case for Pearson Sound being one of the UK’s absolute best producers at the moment, this one has all the makings of an absolute club stormer.
Pearson Sound is one of a long list of big name artists set to play at The Warehouse Project’s Closing Party on New Year’s Day, along with his fellow Hessle Audio partners Ben UFO and Pangaea, Berghain’s Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, Pampa boss DJ Koze and Jackmaster b2b Gerd Janson. Willow, Mike Servito and plenty more will also be appearing on a particularly weighty bill for the series finale.
