Hospitality in the Park has announced a surprise new addition to its lineup, with a whole new stage set up to offer a side-helping of reggae to the masses of drum and bass on offer. With Reggae Roast, one of the UK’s best reggae sound system collectives, taking up curation duties, Hospitality will be expecting good vibrations of the dubbier kind to accompany the long list of artists already booked to perform across the festival’s five other stages. Hospitality in the Park takes place in London’s Finsbury Park on Saturday 24th of September.
Top of the bill for Reggae Roast, Channel One Soundsystem bring the tunes that have made them one of the most recognizable dub and reggae brands in Europe, with UK soul and hip hop fusers The Nextmen lining up just behind them. A former resident (for 20 years, no less) of Soho’s The Dive Bar also steps up, with Earl Gateshead no doubt relishing the prospect of testing his extensive reggae collection on the famous Reggae Roast speakers. Earlier on in the day, Louis Slipperz will provide more hip hop, with Shepdog, Vibration Lab and Adam Prescott also set to bring some records for roasting, as of course will the Reggae Roast crew themselves.
Elsewhere on the lineup, High Contrast, Calibre, Tim Westwood, LTJ Bukem, D Double E, DJ Marky and plenty more will all be making the trip to the capital, with Hospitality’s own stage playing host to the likes of London Elektricity Big Band, Metrik, Fred V & Grafix and Danny Byrd. A live set from Gentleman’s Dub Club also catches the eye, as does a list of hosts which includes Dynamite, Jenna G and Chunky.
