Yorkshire’s longest running independent comedy night has produced an onslaught of comedians since 2001. Over eighteen years of delivering humour from just about every corner of the globe, making Leeds’ HiFi club the place to go if you’re looking for a laugh. Past acts include the likes of Alan Carr, Jason Manford, Russell Howard, John Bishop and many more, the quality never seems to dip and there was no exception on this Saturday night as Steve Harris, Jarred Fell and Stephen Bailey took to the stage.
Hosted by the ever-observant Danny McLoughlin, who’s real-life talk was lapped up by the packed Leeds audience - you certainly had to be brave to sit in the first few rows, as the stag do from Peterborough found out.
Next up was Stephen Bailey, the TV personality and comedian’s wit and attitude has resulted in appearances on Roast Battles, Comedy Central, Big Brother and loads more. He’s supported Katherine Ryan before and it’s easy to see why - his dark and overly-honest observations were undeniably funny from start to finish.
Coming all the way from New Zealand, Award-Winning comedian Jarred Fell met both ends of the spectrum – seriously impressive magic tricks to harsh observations. Full of charisma and quick wit, it was hard not to smile through his set – definitely not a one trick pony!
Steve Harris’ finger-on-the-pulse set delved into real-life situations that just about everybody can relate to. It’s easy to see why he’s supported some of the biggest names in the business including Johnny Vegas, Peter Kay and Lee Evans throughout his expansive career.
If you’re looking for a laugh on Saturday night, look no further – HiFi has the answer.
