Seeking an extra special session for the upcoming bank holiday, Sheffield’s Bed have arranged to have Roger Sanchez and Late Nite Tuff Guy run proceedings at Area, with two rooms of the finest house on August 28.
A powerful force in house music since the early 90s, Roger Sanchez has done the rounds as a resident in New York and Ibiza, where he cut his teeth alongside the likes of David Morales and Danny Tenaglia. A respected remixer with artists including Diana Ross, Kylie, Daft Punk and Madonna on his list of reworks, Sanchez has been a distinctive presence in club culture for quite some time, even winning a Grammy for his 2003 remix of No Doubt’s “Hella Good”. Known for combining the Latin rhythms of his Dominican roots with the straight-up house of the Big Apple, Sanchez is as trustworthy as any other when it’s time to get the party started.
Australia’s Carmelo Bianchetti, aka Late Nite Tuff Guy, is another man who knows his way round an edit, as indicated by his status as a killer disco fixer. Given plenty of airtime by DJs who can’t keep their hands off singalongs like his delightful Fleetwood Mac edit (we’re looking at you, Move D), LNTG has been soundtracking feel-good early hours all across the globe for quite some time. Even better, put him behind the decks and he follows his own example, with toasty nu-disco sets that are perfect for getting heads thrown back and arms around strangers. He’ll be in the second room alongside Simon Brown, Dan Metcalfe and Corey, with Marc Vedo and Dino helping out Roger in Area 1.
Check the pair out in Sheffield at the end of the month; this one comes with a good-time guarantee.
