Full Cycle Records was launched in 1994 by Roni Size and DJ Krust, two of the most influential figures in the jungle drum & bass scene of the late 90’s. Although Full Cycle has not put out a release in a few years, it remains to be a hugely important music label within the jungle genre and many of the tracks are still played heavily by Size and Krust in their sets today, both of whom will be appearing at Village Underground for an exciting Full Cycle reformation on Friday the 8th of April.
With a back catalogue that features the likes of Die, Clipz, Tali and D Product, Full Cycle Records veers between the classic jungle sound and jump up drum and bass, with the latter becoming more apparent as time has passed. The label has been praised alongside other labels such as V recordings (which Size & Krust did the debut release for), RAM and Metalheadz for being the most influential in the D&B world. Roni Size and DJ Krust were also original members of Reprazent, the D&B act that has had a number of popular singles including Brown Paper Bag.
This coming together of Krust and Roni Size at Village Underground will see them both reviving Full Cycle after the label took a break shortly after turning 15. Now, joined by Dynamite MC, DJ Krust and Roni Size will come back as strong as ever with record bags full of Full Cycle Classics, and who knows, maybe the next release after this long awaited reformation.
