But “It's Not An Album”…
Save Yourself is the brand new project from SBTRKT, Aaron Jerome’s electronic music moniker that has built a plethora of acclaimed remixes, originals and spellbinding performances since first bursting onto the music scene circa 2009.
The record, which is being dubbed as “not an album” by the Young Turks spearhead, has been in production since last summer to last week, with the idea behind it providing him with the ability to share music with his fans more often, as he says he has neglected to do so in the past.

Although SBTRKT is a solo artist, on this record he has strived to bring together other artists from diverse musical and geographical backgrounds, collaborating on jam sessions that eventually led to songs, many with new artists whom Aaron has not worked with before. With music that is tentatively stripped back, giving way to vocalists in a free way, SBTRKT’S music on Save Yourself is very emotive, with this approach being the provision for the “most interesting musical stories” he has made to date.
The title Save Yourself depicts Aaron’s current views on what’s going on in the world on both a small and large scale. Whereas the debut album of many artists gives way to what a record label wants, this record keeps SBTRKT’S musical creativeness ripe and at the front of everything, meaning his thoughts are carried in a very bold way. “Dark optimism” has been what Aaron has referred to the collection of tracks as, on which he has attempted to create happy music contained in the now, albeit with consideration to what the future holds.
