Set One Twenty have recently launched a new series of events at Mint Warehouse, during which they have welcomed a number of artists who go back to the brands roots in bringing the best in disco, soul and house. The first party that saw Greg Wilson and Borrowed Identity spearhead ‘A Night At The Disco’ was a hit with all their fans (listen to an hour of Greg Wilson's set recorded live that night below); therefore more of the same is expected at their next instalment that sees ‘A Night On The Soul Train’.
During this return to Mint Warehouse, Set One Twenty will be playing host to The Reflex, a disco edit master who is revered by everyone from Greg Wilson to Disclosure, and Aeroplane to Jazzy Jeff. Dubbed ‘Re√isions, not edits’ The Reflex has reworked everyone from The Jackson 5 to Deee-Lite, fabricating sublimely sexy afterthoughts of classic soul tracks that will have smiles on and hands in the air.
Mangled Records’ Ray Mang is no stranger on the disco scene either, as he has had a long line of highly collectible and well received records, some of which have included edits of P-Funk, The Glimmers, Shirley Bassey, Freddy Mercury, with forthcoming remixes of Kris Menace, Dimitri From Paris and Volta Cab still in the pipeline.
Joining the headliners will be Set One Twenty residents Layer, Kag and Perrin as well as Henri Matisse who joins the brand again after appearing at last months disco instalment. This will no doubt be a feel good night of classic soul records that will get you on the track to having a top night on the soul train.
