Detroit’s Seth Troxler has completed a charity hike to the top of Kilimanjaro, raising over $100,000 in the process. Donations have flooded in at his page on the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation website, with all of the proceeds going towards innovative research into brain cancer. The Million$Mission campaign hopes that the funding can help them boost the five-year survival rate of patients from 20 per cent, where it currently stands, to 50 per cent by 2023.
Troxler was not alone in completing the hike, taking part with a team of nine others, including an elite neurosurgeon, young entrepreneurs and a brain cancer sufferer. Each participant aimed to raise $100,000, and Troxler has already matched that figure with nearly a month left to go before donations close. You can still donate via curebraincancer.org, or head here to take part in Seth’s charity auction, which aims to raise further funds for the same cause.
