In the midst of outdoor parties that take place in Leeds throughout the summer, The Faversham’s Bank Holiday terrace parties have always been amongst the best. Last year, The Garden Party celebrated their 10th Anniversary with a huge 2-day festival at The Tetley, combining live music, DJs and much more. The Garden Party will be moving back to their spiritual home at The Faversham, where the marquee will adorn the club’s grounds on the 1st of May. The evening will see the party making its way from the garden into the Wire basement for an official after party which will be addorned by residents and special guest running from 10pm - 4am.
Joining in will be Oliver Jones, AKA Skream, who will be making his Garden Party debut. Starting out as one of the UKs pioneering dubstep DJs, Skream made the move to house and techno a few years ago and since begot a huge profile thanks to his new sound. Boasting releases on Crosstown Rebels amongst a number of other sought after labels, Skream has cut his teeth in the world of house and techno amongst some of the best in the business; some of which have included regular slots for Elrow and back-to-back performances with Seth Troxler, Eats Everything and Jackmaster as the self proclaimed J.E.S.u.S.
George FitzGerald is most commonly known for his huge single Child that broke him onto the scene a number of years ago. Since then he has furthered his back catalogue with several EPs on the label that released his debut, Aus, as well as Hotflush and Hypercolour. Jasper James is the final guest to be joining The Garden Party’s line up for May 1st. Jasper is the son of Sub Club proprietor Harri and has made a name for himself super quick, bursting onto the scene just over a year ago. Jasper James has not only recorded one of the most recent Essential Mixes, he has also been made resident of the new London club Phonox, with his performances staying fresh as he plays most nights at the club.
As always The Garden Party residents Matt Long, Brad Mercer and People Get Real will be on hand to warm up the cocktail garden ahead of the guests who will no doubt provide great music lasting through the day and night. The Garden will be fully decked out with street food on sale throughout the day.
