Continuing their 25th birthday celebrations, Boxfresh are hosting a very special Skreamism party at The Electric Brixton on the 10th May, which boasts an exciting line up of varied guests who will be providing the sounds for the evening. To provide you with an aural treat, the venue will be rocking an RC1 sound system that will ensure the music sounds the best it can. Headlining the bill will be the brands spearhead Skream, who will be joined by Route 94, Octave One, Krystal Klear, Hrdvision and Jasper James, with more to be announced.
Route 94 is a young producer who has emerged over the past few years with a string of well-received tracks, including his UK number one hit ‘My Love’. Once a prolific dubstep producer who was championed by Skream from an early age, Route 94 has quickly become one of the most popular names on the commercial dance music scene, remixing the likes of Katy B, Storm Queen, Outkast, MK, Breach, Example and Skream himself.
Joining Skream and Route 94 will be second wave Detroit techno artists Octave One. The duo of siblings Lenny and Lawrence Burden have released their tracks on some of technos most prolific labels including Derrick May’s Transmat Records, Tresor and their own label 430 West. Octave One’s most successful hit takes the form of the still widely played anthem ‘Blackwater’, which still never fails to rock dance floors around the globe. Octave One will be showcasing their live performance at Skreamism, a prospect that is extremely exciting for everyone involved.
Continuing on the bill is Dublin born DJ Krystal Klear. Not only a resident for the successful Manchester club night Hoya:Hoya, Krystal Klear gained attention from many reputable selectors around the world having toured the USA, whilst also being named as the ‘one to watch’ by many in 2011. With releases on Madtech, Dub Organizer and All City Records his tunes have been backed by a multitude of artists like Joy Orbison, Brodinski, Toddla T and once again Skream. With a sound that can consist of everything from Chicago house to disco edged boogie beats, Krystal Klear adds a diverse layer to the already impressive line up.
Hrdvision (real name Nathan Jonson) will be the second live artist featuring on the Skreamism line up for the 10th of May. As the brother of the eminent techno artist Mathew Jonson, his name carries weight and so does his productions, which prove deeply rhythmical and moving, fusing the sounds of Detroit and contemporary European sounds.
Rounding off the Skreamism line up is Glaswegian DJ and producer Jasper James. Starting to DJ at the age of 13 under the watchful eye of his father, Jasper James has an impressive musical knowledge having access to a large record collection ranging over many different sounds.
