After holding home at Distrikt Bar over the past few years, Slowdown Sounds have been absent from the Leeds club scene for some time. This month however, the club night returns encapsulating all things sleazy, slow and seductive, with focus on hip-hop, soul, funk and more.
The proceedings will begin on September 19th at Mint Festival, where Slowdown Sounds will be hosting their own arena headlined by DJ Yoda, the audio visual DJ wizard who has been praised for his multi sensory performances this year that bring together turntablism, live bands, musicians and awesome visualisations.
From here, Slowdown Sounds will take up a monthly slot at Mint Club, with The Beastie Boys very own Mix Master Mike spearheading the sounds on Sunday 27th September. The following month on the 30th October, Slowdown Sounds will celebrate their 3rd birthday, with Good Times proprietor Norman Jay, Mr. Thing and Ollie Teeba solidifying a great line up. November will welcome DJ Format and Abdominal for a live performance before December is welcomed in by Big Daddy Kane, who will perform Live.
At all of these parties there will be support from Slowdown Sounds residents selected from the likes of Jimmy Brooklyn, Prince Valium, Tony Green, Anthony Dobson, Flame Griller, Dan Dowker, BT3K, Campo and more.
