Soak & Up Yer Ronson head to Mint Warehouse for end of summer party

Soak & Up Yer Ronson head to Mint Warehouse for end of summer party

Soak and Up Yer Ronson head to Mint Warehouse on 27th August for a special one off showcase complete with an XL bill headlined by CJ Mackintosh, a stalwart of the UK dance scene for three decades. Backed by an army of local legends, Mackintosh will lead the charge for Soak as they look to resurrect the party spirit of old in the main from 10pm right up until 4am. The Mint Warehouse terrace will be in the capable hands of Up Yer Ronson as they oversee the day time party action from 3pm with help from Ibiza stallwarts Jason Bye and Clara Da Coasta, Paul Murray and many more.

Winner of the UK title in the DMC Mix Championship of 1987, Paris-born CJ Mackintosh made waves in London from a young age, showing up at illegal all-nighters, Ministry of Sound and anywhere else where the party was bumpin’ as he rose to become one of the most prominent DJs in the capital city. Headlining over in the main room for Soak, CJ marked himself out as an extraordinarily talented scratch DJ, with a soulful style that uses classic house vocals as focal points for sets designed to hit like the crack of a whip.

Joining CJ, Hacienda resident Tom Wainwright will also take to the Mint Warehouse booth, returning as one of the original Soak guests to demonstrate the American house leanings that marked the night as a standout part of the Leeds dance scene all those years ago. Hardened rhythms and disco inflections made Tom a well-loved member of innumerable seminal parties, and he’ll be warmly welcomed back alongside another Soak original, the ever present Marshall.

Mint Warehouse has long been fertile ground for local DJs to grow, and so it seems only proper for a local contingent to join the ranks, with Soak inviting Love To Be resident Tony Walker to play alongside Miss Melodie, the SpeedQueen resident who somehow managed to slip through the venue’s net despite having been plying her trade locally for fifteen years. Putting that right in August, Soak completes the bill by inviting Miss Melodie to make her Mint debut.
