After their first announcement last week, which brought us the news that Clapham Common would be playing host to a huge homecoming gig from the dance giants Faithless, as well as a performance from one of the festival’s favourite DJs, Eric Prydz, South West Four have released a further number of artists who will be taking to the common on the Saturday of August Bank Holiday Weekend.
Amongst the names are Fatboy Slim, who will be showcasing his new project Smile High Club alongside a tethering of big room, chart-topping sounds from the likes of Bakermat, Gorgon City, Hannah Wants, Hot Since 82, Secondcity and BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong. There will be a stage hosted by Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats, which, even though no individual artists have been announced as of yet, will surely keep the energy going right through the day for all the trance fans in the crowd.
There will also be a team of live artists and DJs representing the dance music underground, the first of which include the world class Cadenza head honcho Luciano as well as South African Circo Loco newbie Black Coffee. Also appearing are Fritz Kalkbrenner, Kölsch, Nic Fanciulli and a special live performance from Dubfire, dubbed his Hybrid Live Show. As always there will be a number of exclusive back-to-back performances at South West Four, which go unrivalled amongst other festival collaborations all over the UK. The first of these will see a one-record-each set from Green Velvet and Patrick Topping.
This is by far the end of the list as the stage breakdown for Saturday is still yet to be unveiled, which is before Sunday is even touched upon. There will surely be a lot more exciting announcements from South West Four over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on our news page to keep updated.
